Undergraduate Admission Requirements

UTME Candidates:*

1. Candidates must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain an acceptable score in the Use of English (Compulsory) and three subjects required for the proposed programme of study as set out by JAMB.
2. A candidate must obtain one of the following qualifications:
   • National Examinations Council (NECO)/West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Senior School Certificate (SSC) or the Senior School Certificate/General Certificate of Education (SSC/GCE) or equivalents with credit passes in five (5) subjects including English and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings.
   • Grade II Teachers’ Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit passes in at least five (5) subjects.
   • National Technical Certificate (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) with credit passes in five (5) subjects including English and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings.
     Direct Entry (DE) Candidates:
3. Candidates with one of the following qualifications may be considered for admission by Direct Entry:
   • A minimum of five (5) subjects passed at not more than two sittings with at least two (2) at the Principal or Advance Level of the GCE and the others, at credit level of the SSC/GCE, NTC/NBC.
   • Passes in two (2) major subjects in the NCE with SSC, NTC/NBC credits or equivalents in three (3) other subjects (mainly for Education Programmes).

Registration Guidelines

To register for the Post UTME screening exercise, follow these steps:

1. Visit the YUMSUK website at https://yumsuk.edu.ng/
2. Click on “Post UTME Registration” and create an account.
3. Fill in the required information, including your UTME registration number, name, and email address.
4. Upload your passport photograph and other required documents.
5. Pay the registration fee of ₦2,000 online using a debit card or other accepted payment methods.
6. Print out your registration slip.

Screening Dates and Venue

• Post UTME Screening Test: Date to be announced
• Time: 8:00 AM daily
• Venue: Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Main Campus, Kofar Kabuga-Kofar Ruwa Road, Kano
• Direct Entry (D.E.) Screening: Date to be announced
• Time: 8:00 AM
• Venue: Respective Departments in the University’s Campuses

Required Documents for Screening

Candidates will be requested to come with the following documents for the screening:

• Photocopies and original copies of their credentials
• Online registration acknowledgment slip for the screening exercise
