NMU Post UTME Application 2024: The Nigerian Maritime University (NMU) has announced the commencement of its Post UTME application for the 2024/2025 academic session. Interested candidates who chose NMU as their first choice institution in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are invited to apply.
Cost of Application Form:
The cost of the NMU Post UTME application form is N2,000 (Two Thousand Naira only).
Application Requirements:
1. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
Candidates who selected the Maritime Academy of Nigeria as their First (1st) Choice Institution in the 2024 UTME and scored above the required cut-off mark as stated in section 2 are eligible for post-UTME registration.
2. UTME CUT-OFF MARKS
- Nautical Science: 170
- Marine Engineering: 170
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering: 170
- Maritime Transport and Business Studies: 160
3. MODES OF CORRESPONDENCE
Candidates seeking admission into the Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have a functional and accessible email address and mobile phone number for correspondence. Candidates are not required to present themselves physically except on invitation via website publication or email/text messages.
4. O-LEVEL SUBJECTS AND UTME SUBJECT COMBINATIONS
A. ND Nautical Science
- O/Level Subjects
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics
- Geography
- Any other related science subject (obtained within the last five (5) years in no more than two sittings)
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:
- UTME Subject Combination

B. Marine Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- O/Level Subjects
- SSCE or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:

- Any other related science subject (obtained within the last five (5) years in no more than two sittings)
- SSCE or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:

C. Maritime Transport and Business Studies
- O/Level Subjects
- SSCE or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:
- Mathematics

- Economics
- Any two (2) of Geography, Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting, Marketing, or Business Management (obtained within the last five (5) years in no more than two sittings)
- SSCE or equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including:
- UTME Subject Combination
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Geography/Commerce/Government/Principles of Account/Marketing
5. O-LEVEL RESULT
Only the O/Level results submitted on CAPs will be used for the screening exercise. Therefore, all candidates are advised to upload their O/Level results on CAPs before September 30, 2024.
6. PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL FITNESS
A. Physical Fitness
Due to the peculiar requirements of the institution and the maritime industry, as well as the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), all applicants must be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigors of cadetship training. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present themselves for physical and medical fitness screening when invited.
B. Medical Form
Candidates should print out the Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form must be duly completed and signed before uploading it on the portal.
C. Medical Tests
Candidates will undergo the following medical tests when invited for the admission screening exercise at the Academy:
- PCV
- VDRL
- HBV
- HIV 1/2
- Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS)
- Pregnancy Test (for females)
- Urinalysis
- Genotype
- Blood Group
- Drug Test
7. MARITAL STATUS
Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the program.
8. AGE LIMIT
Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as of October 31, 2024. Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as of October 31, 2024.

Eligible candidates should follow these steps to start the registration process:
- Access the Admission Portal
- Click on the Admission HND/ND Registration Portal.
- Login Credentials
- Use your UTME number as the Username.
- Use your JAMB Score as the Password.
- Generate RRR
- Generate your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) and print the payment slip.
- Make Payment
- Proceed to any bank of your choice to make payment using the Remita Payment Platform.
- Complete Registration
- Return to the Academy Portal to complete your registration.
